We did it! I married him so hard! @thecarlosramos #carlosxtimony

As many of you have already seen, I got a puppy. His name is Zombi and he is a Boston Terrier. At the moment he is going on 12 weeks old but we got him when he was 9 weeks from a very nice family that had a litter. I’ve always been a huge advocate of adopting from shelters, but when I saw this little guy’s picture I fell in love. Also, I am pleased that I was able to see his parents to know that they are fit and well and to know that he was raised in a loving home environment and not some depressing breeder’s back yard or puppy mill. I have wanted my own dog for so long, since I was still living with my parents. Zombi comes to work with me every day and snuggles with me at night. He is also getting along splendidly with our other Boston Terrier, Bucket. Bucket is notoriously dog aggressive which is why we thought it best to get a puppy of the same breed. I have never seen Bucket show such adoration for another animal. He goes easy on him when they play tug of war, rolls onto his back when Zombi jumps all over him and they both curl up on top of me on the couch. Seriously, SO CUTE! Needless to say, I’m smitten.

In other news, I quit my job and today is my last day. I’ve been working as a full time in house photographer, retoucher and studio manager for over 6 months now and due to a number of circumstances including the studio relocating to a warehouse in the middle of scaryville ghetto town nowhere, I gave my notice. I’m actually really excited, I’ve started working for Violetville Vintage where I will be apprenticing in all areas of the company’s functionality and acting as freelance photographer. I’ll continue to shoot for my darlings at Tunnel Vision and hopefully work on expanding my personal portfolio as well. I’ve had so many amazing creative friends that I’ve been talking about working with for ages and hopefully now I will finally have the opportunity.

On top of that, I recently upgraded my camera to the Canon 5D Mark II and am eager to get some good use out of it. I have a backlog of photos that need to be retouched so keep an eye on my website as I’ll be posting lots of new goodies soon.

And finally, CAN WE TAKE A MOMENT TO TALK ABOUT SLACKS?!? Holy shit, they are the coolest pants ever. I can’t decide if I look like a grandpa or an 80’s corporate sex icon, but either way they are amazing. When I was a teenager I wouldn’t be caught dead in slacks but now that I’m more comfortable with my dramatic hip to waist ratio, they seem like the most natural and reasonable solution. I was shopping for a pair for my Cop Halloween Costume and ended up buying four pairs. I absolutely intend to stock up on more, though.

Happy Friday Everyone!

This is Zombi. I never understood the meaning of “maternal instincts” until he came along. He makes my ovaries explode with love.

Today’s Outfit:

 • Long Sleeved men’s button up shirt
 • Double breasted grey twill blazer
 • Black silk neck scarf
 • Black jeggings
 • Black ballet slippers
 • Pearl stud earrings

I love jeggings, but this pair started to tear at the seam a bit (thank’s to my big butt) so on my lunch break I went down to one of the fashion alleys and bought a new pair of black skinny jeans (not shown) which turned out to be a BIT tight (in the knees, mostly, as weird as that sounds), but they’re stretch and hopefully will be perfect once they’re broken in. I went to the gym last night and weighed myself only to discover that after a whole week of not working out and eating myself silly on pasta I had actually lost three pounds? At this rate these pants will be loose in no time. ;)

I really am trying to get back into shape. I want to improve my running and get my mile time down to 8:20, which is what it was a few years back right before I got hit by a car. I could ride my motorcycle again before I could run and thankfully the treadmills at my gym have a bit of spring to them so they are easier on my knees. I’d also like to lose 3-5 more pounds and keep my core nice and strong. No matter what I do, though, I can never seem to shrink my bum. Oh well. Hopefully these new jeans will hold up better than the jeggings.

But enough of this nonsense. Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Cinco de Mayo with my mister

Cinco de Mayo with my mister

We went out for Indian food to a place we frequent, though we had never been there in the day before. We discovered that what looked like weird non working lamps during the day were actually beautiful skylights. It created such a dramatically different atmosphere. We ate vegetables roasted in ghee inside a thin Indian flat bread, a spicy lentil soup (with yogurt on the side to cool your tongue), and chick peas in a smooth tangy sauce. I can’t properly name anything we ate, we always just pick something off the menu that “sounds good” and we are rarely disappointed.
